Q-Post Premium
Process (QPP)
Despite the
availability of the Internet and email, the world’s need for postal
services does not seem to have diminished. Qatar’s Postal Service
(Q-Post) is, if anything, handling more material than ever before. It is
also regularly revising and updating its services and introducing new
specialized facilities to meet customer demand, whether corporate or
private.
Q-Post Premium (QPP)
offers a service designed specifically for the speedy and secure
door-to-door local delivery of important documents. These documents are
tracked through every stage of handling and the sender receives
confirmation that the delivery has been completed safely via the
Internet. Click

Delivery Terms & Conditions
Q-Post has been
working in close co-ordination with certain trading partners in Qatar on
the delivery of renewed credit cards. On a global scale, credit card
fraud has seen a marked increase, and many customers feel uncomfortable
about the idea of cards on already activated accounts going through
normal postal channels in case they get lost or stolen.
Of course individuals
can collect their cards in person from the bank, but not everyone can
get away from work at an appropriate time. What the new Q-Post service
aims to offer is delivery of the cards to the customer’s home or office,
in additional to being able to collect the card(s) directly from the General Post
Office, 6-days a week, including afternoon/evening timings.
Q-Post
supplies the sender with sealable plastic bags for the documents,
and the bar-code labels that
enable
them to be tracked. Q-Post drivers collect the items from the
sender’s and take them to a secure office at the Q-Post main post
office for security scanning against the manifest. For each
document bag, Q-Post generates an Addressee Detail Sheet and
action list. The sender supplies contact details of the addressee
to whom the delivery must be made. Q-Post staff then set about
contacting them by phone to arrange delivery. They need to know
which day the recipient will be available; whether the delivery
can be made in the morning or afternoon; if it should be made to a
house or office; on which street; if its a multi-storey building,
which floor.
Because these are
secure deliveries, the named recipient, who will need to provide
identification in the form of a full driving license, valid ID card or
current passport, must sign for the item. If addressees prefer to
collect the package themselves, they can do so at counter 18 of the
General Post Office building. (ID is still required)
Sometimes, Q-Post has problems contacting
the intended addressee by phone. If, after two days, no contact has been
established, then a letter is placed in the addressees PO Box asking
them to contact the QPP department
