The Games Of Your Life

The 15th Asian Games- Doha 2006- Have been billed as 'The Games of your Life", and are sure to mark yet another success for rapidly-developing- Qatar, thanks to the patronage of His Highness the Emir, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, and His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Heir Apparent and Chairman of the Doha Asian Games Organising Committee (DAGOC). Though their Guidance they have both booted sports in Qatar, a fact which is reflected in the country's acknowledged position as a sports capital for the region.

Doha 2006 is the largest sporting event of its Kind in Asian. Millions of people are eager to watch the Games unfold and through the Games, Qatar has been able to showcase its hospitality, generosity, honesty and friendship to the whole world. Qatar always encourages and welcomes those involved in sport, something which has become a global language and a bridge for communication and understanding between all nations of the world. Sport is the domain of clean and clean competition and multi-cultures. And Qatar has become a welcoming home for world sports and global competition. Success is our partner and we have successfully met the challenges of organizing major events.

The General Postal corporation (Q-Post), is part of that success, since it is the official Postal Provider and Courier of the  15th Asian Games. Q-Post has established many new post offices specifically for the Games-at the athletes Village, the Main Media Center, and at 3 showcase competition Venues - Al-Rayaan Stadium, Qatar sports Club and Khalifa Stadium, to provide a full range of postal services. We have also commemorated the event by issuing Personal Stamps, Competition Venus Stamps, Torch Relay Stamps, Volunteers Stamps, and stamps depicting the Official Mascot, 'Orry', as well as specially - minted Gold, Silver and Bronze Coins.

Qatar's experience in hosting the 15th Asian Games has encouraged us to make a bid to host the olympic Games in 2016. such an amazing sporting heritage will be a source of pride for our coming generations, who will build on it by their achievements, thanks to the kind patronage they enjoy under the leadership of Their highnesses the emir and the Heir Apparent. Competing athletes will undoubtedly remember Doha 2006 as the Games of their life !

The tireless efforts exerted by the Doha Asian Games Organizing Committee and the employees at Q-Post, have been fruitful in making Doha 2006 a real success! My personal thanks and appreciation go to them, and to everyone who has contributed to this unforgettable event.
